EDGE Tax Credit: Tax credit for businesses creating full-time jobs in the State of Illinois. The EDGE program has a 10 year life. Enterprise Zones (EZ): Businesses that locate in an EZ receive an exemption on the tax paid on building materials and an investment tax credit of 0.5% of qualified property. High Impact Business (HIB): HIB is designed to encourage large-scale economic development activities in Illinois. Businesses may qualify for investment tax credits, an exemption on the tax paid on building materials and an exemption from state sales tax on utilities.

Illinois offers free site searches for industrial property, commercial property and greenfields. Business Development Public Infrastructure Program (BDPIP): BDPIP provides funds for infrastructure improvements in support of economic development in the Illinois. ETIP Training Grant: ETIP grants can reimburse companies for up to 50% of the cost of training their employees. BioTip can reimburse Life Science companies for up to 50 percent of the cost of training their employees.
