The Trade and Investment Development Corporation of the Philippines (TIDCORP) was officially designated as the Philippine Export-Import Credit Agency or PhilEXIM, which provides a wide range of financial services such as the following:

  • Provision of insurance cover, credit and appropriate services to facilitate the export of Philippine goods or services by any entity, enterprise or corporation organized or licensed to engage in business in the Philippines.
  • Entry into any contract of re-insurance with any organized export credit agency or insurance organization.
  • Provision of technical assistance in the preparation, financing, execution of development or expansion programs, including the formulation or specific project proposals.

IT and IT-Enabled Services

  • As 100% export-oriented activity, IT and IT-Enabled may register with any of the Investment Promotion, with full entitlement of incentives.

Renewable Energy (One of the priority activities in the Philippines)

  • Income Tax Holiday (ITH) for the first seven years of commercial operations.
  • Duty-free Importation of machinery, equipment and materials including control and communication equipment within the first ten years upon issuance of a certification of entitlement to incentives.
  • Special tax rates on realty and other taxes on civil works, equipment, machinery, and other improvements
  • Net Operating Loss Carry-Over (NOLCO) during the first three years shall be carried over as a deduction from gross income for the next seven consecutive taxable years.
  • Corporate Tax Rate of 10 percent on net taxable income after seven years of ITH.
  • Accelerated Depreciation of plant, machinery, and equipment.
  • Zero Percent Value – Added Tax Rate on sales of fuel or power generated from renewable sources.
  • Tax Exemption on all proceeds from the sale of carbon emission credits.
  • Cash generation-based incentive per kilowatt-hour rate generated for missionary electrification, equivalent to fifty percent of the universal charge for power needed to service missionary areas where it operates the same.
  • Tax Credit on machinery, equipment, materials, and parts purchased from a domestic manufacturer, equivalent to one hundred percent of the value of the VAT and custom duties that would have been paid had these items been imported.
  • Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) a market based policy that requires electricity suppliers to source an agreed portion of their energy supply from eligible RE sources.
  • Feed-in Tariff or price premium for electricity produced from wind, solar, ocean, run-of-river hydropower and biomass.
  • Benefit of priority dispatch where intermittent generation shall be considered a “must dispatch” whenever there is a capacity that can be taken by any grid.
